POST CARE PROCEDURE FOR PERMANENT MAKE-UP
Each individual may heal differently and healing time may vary. Remember that permanent
make-up is made to enhance your features and not to replace make-up. In each procedure the
appearance of your pigment will be darker. We suggest waiting at least 30-60 days for full
healing before any touch ups.
1. Keep area clean
2. No scrubbing. Do not rub, wipe, or scratch area. Use patting motions only.
3. Soap/cleanser may be used as long as they are not alcohol based and do not have
antiaging acids or acne acids in it.
4. Keep moist with healing ointment at all times while outer healing occurs(3-5 days for
eyes,7-10 days for lips)
5. Clients do best with water soluble or non-pore clogging products that let the skin
breathe.
6. Use healing ointment continuously throughout the day until outer healing is complete.
7. Recommendation: Bacitracin,A&D,Aquaphor, GenTeal PM Ointment,or Up Balm.
GenTeal makes a great healing ointment after permanent eyeliner because it is
ophthalmic/safe for eyes. (Remember to read directions)
8. Treated area must remain dry, cover with a watertight bandage while showering.
9. Do not expose the area to full pressure of the shower. Clean it and keep ointment on it.
Scabs that dry out take longer to heal off.
10.A permanent make-up procedure is the equivalent of a skin-deep wound,a scab may
form over the treated area in 3-7 days and fall off.
11. it is very important not to pick or pull at the scabs;this will increase the risk of scarring
and prolong recovery.
12.You may cool the skin a few times after permanent make-up procedure with cold pack
for 10 minutes every couple of hours fofthe first day. Don't overdo it. Overuse of ice
packs on fragile skin may cause cryotherapy complications.
13.Avoid strenuous activity for 2-3 days
14. Do not compress your face in a pillow while sleeping, especially the first couple of days.
15. Use of sunblock after healing is completed Will help prevent premature fading.
16. Do not swim In fresh, salt,or chlorinated water for 3 weeks.Avoid environments that
would cause dirt or germs to contact area while healing.
17. Do not apply topical cosmetics over area while healing.
18. if no allergies, ibuprofen may be used to reduce swelling and discomfort. if other
medication is desired it is best to consult with your physician.
