1&=AFTERCARE RJ5MJJJ1M Complying with the following instructions will result in a quick healing process and an attractive tattoo! Remember,the life of your tattoo depends on the care it receives within its first few weeks. ALWAYS be sure to thoroughly wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your new tattoo. Contact with dirty hands is a major contributor of infection. Once tattoo is exposed,wash it thoroughly with liquid antibacterial soap and warm water.Be sure to rinse away any and all secretions and be sure that all soap residues are rinsed off. After washing tattoo, lightly pat dry with a clean towel.Apply a thin coat of Aquaphor ointment and massage into tattoo.DO NOT apply a thick coat as your skin must be able to breathe.(If Aquaphor is unavailable,you can use A ointment as an alternative.)If rash develops,Lubriderm lotion may be used.DO NOT apply scented lotions on your new tattoo as they have ingredients that can damage your tattoo. Depending on the nature and the extent of your tattoo, it may be necessary to wear clothing heavy enough to protect it particularly if you work around grease,oil,dirt,metal etc. Be sure that any clothing that comes in contact with your tattoo is soft and clean. Your new tattoo will develop a layer of dry skin.DO NOT pick it off!Apply ointment 3 times daily until the layer of dry skin falls off on its own.After the dry skin has fallen off,there will be a period of adjustment for the new skin.It is advisable to use a skin lotion at this time. DO NOT let the tattoo dry out! DO NOT reapply any bandaging as the tattoo needs to breathe to speed up the healing process. DO NOT use Vaseline,petroleum jelly,alcohol,or peroxide. DO NOT rub,scratch,or pick at your tattoo. DO NOT expose new tattoo to direct sunlight for 2 weeks.After that,you can use sun block(SPF 3S or above)to help keep tattoo from fading. DO NOT submerse tattoo in water for 2 weeks.This includes baths,swimming,and saunas. Saltwater and chlorine act as bleach and can ruin your tattoo.Too much water exposure can cause wrinkling and puckering of skin which can also damage your tattoo. The healing process usually takes about 2-3 weeks but can vary by person and care. Refrain from exercise,gardening,and contact with animals for 2 weeks. If you have symptoms of infection,including,but not limited to,redness,swelling,tenderness of skin, elevated body temperature,or purulent drainage from the procedure site,seek medical attention.
