Grab samples of the soil core shall be monitored for the presence of VOCs and the data shall be <br /> recorded on the boring log. <br /> 4. Groundwater from MW-5 shall be collected along with water from the proposed borings. Depth <br /> to water in the shallow groundwater monitoring wells shall be measured prior to sampling and <br /> within 72-hours of sampling the borings. <br /> 5. Landfill gas from the probes at GW-1, GW-2, and GW-3 shall also be collected and analyzed for <br /> VOCs within 2 days of sampling groundwater at the proposed borings. <br /> 6. The county proposed doing this work in February 2000; however, Regional Board review has <br /> delayed the county in contracting for this work. The county should respond by 31 March 2000 <br /> with a proposed schedule to complete the investigation. The results of the investigation shall be <br /> reported in writing within 45-days of completing the fieldwork. <br /> 7. Please telephone the Regional Board 2-weeks prior to doing fieldwork to allow staff to schedule <br /> a site visit during the field operations. <br /> 8. The county shall indicate in their written report what, if any, further investigation or mitigation is <br /> needed for the VOCs in shallow groundwater. <br /> Telephone me at (916) 255-3137 if you have any questions regarding this letter. <br /> WENDY W.
