Secondary Containment Test Procedure Used To Determine Test Results
Tank Secondary Containment — The Service Technician will test and certify
using methods developed and recommended by the Tank Manufacture, Industry
Standard or Professional Engineer. Test procedure recommended and used is a
vacuum slowly applied to establish a stable vacuum of 6" to 10" inches Hg. for one
hour using a Standard Industry Vacuum Gauge with a range of-0" to -30"
measured in Hg./inches of mercury. The test is completed at the end of one
hour/Tanks with a Volume of 20,000 Gallons or less, and 2 hours for Tanks that
exceed a Volume of 20,000 Gallons, if the vacuum reading does not decrease
below the established vacuum or the Threshold Criteria recommended by the Tank
Manufacture, Industry Standard, or Professional Engineer.
Product Piping Containment/Vent Piping Containment/Vapor Recovery
Piping Containment — The Service Technician will test and certify using methods
developed and recommended by the Piping Manufacture, Bravo System UDC
Manufacture, Industry Standard or Professional Engineer. Test procedure
recommended and used is, Nitrogen Gas pressure, slowly applied to establish a
stable pressure of 5 psi for one hour or 3 Psi for 1 hour using a Standard Industry
Pressure Gauge with a range of 0 to 15 measured in Psi/Pounds per square inch. If
the Product Piping is Fiberglass and the UDC's are a Bravo System Manufacture,
constructed of Coated Steel, with an O Ring Seal at Primary/Secondary Product
Piping Interface at end of Product Piping Run at UDC's then, Bravo System
Manufacture recommends a maximum applied test pressure of 3 Psi. The test is
completed at the end of one hour if the pressure reading does not decrease below
the established pressure or the Threshold Criteria recommended by the Piping
Manufacture, Bravo System UDC Manufacture, Industry Standard or Professional
Engineer.
Turbine/Product Piping Sump/Fill Riser Sump/Remote Fill
Sump/Transition/Vent Sump/Spill Container/Misc. Sump connected to UST
System — The Service Technician will test and certify using methods developed
and recommended by the Sump Manufacture, Industry Standard or Professional
Engineer. The test procedure recommended and used is Hydrostatic with a level
change indicator that has been developed to indicate a standard leak rate of 1/a inch
in 24 hours within 30 minutes, and
