All violations must be connected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health and must be connected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS:The chlorine level of the pool was measured at 12.8ppm.A chlorine level of greater then 10.Oppm is considered a major violation and grounds for closure. Return the pool chlorine levels to between 2.Oppm and 10.Oppm.The pool is to remain closed until chlorine levels are at an acceptable level and re-inspection by the SJC Environmental Health Department. CALCODE DESCRIPTION.,Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid,2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.(CCR 65529) #9 Ladders and Handrails OBSERVATIONS:A handrail was observed to be lose. Secure all handrails so that they may be used safely. CALCODE DESCRIPTION.,A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point above the top of the lowest step.Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck.
