Former Gardner Property - 2 - 30 April 2008
26090 (AKA 26056) N. Thornton Rd Thornton
MW-7 will also be sampled for petroleum hydrocarbons before, during, and after the pilot study
per the proposed Workplan protocol.
In addition to groundwater sampling, MW-7 will be monitored for changes in water levels and
dissolved oxygen (DO) per the proposed Workplan protocol. If there is any indication that the
pilot study is affecting the petroleum hydrocarbon plume at MW-7 (changes in water levels or
increases in DO), then MW-7 will be sampled for petroleum hydrocarbons and the pilot test will
be shut down until the groundwater sample results show no petroleum hydrocarbons impacts
from the pilot study. In effect, data from MW-7 will be used during the pilot study to prevent the
groundwater plume from approaching Muni Well 2 from MW-4.
It is my understanding from communications with AGE that the field work for the well
installations is scheduled for 20/21 May 2008, with the pilot study to follow at the end of May.
MW-7 must be developed, sampled, and sample results emailed/faxed to (916) 464-4704) for
my final approval before starting the pilot test.
If the MW-7 groundwater pre-pilot study sampling results show impacts from petroleum
hydrocarbons prior to the pilot study, then the 72-hour pilot test will be delayed while
groundwater is pumped from MW-4 into a Baker tank and held for proper disposal. When the
MW-7 sample results are non-detect for petroleum hydrocarbons, I have reviewed the non-
detect sample results, and given approval to proceed with the 72-hour pilot study, AGE shall
submit a revised schedule by email or fax to me for the 72-hour pilot study.
Please acquire all permits and rights of access, and provide San Joaquin County and myself three
working days notice prior to fieldwork. If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 464-4615 or
email me at the following address jbartonAwaterboards.ca .qov.
James L. L. Barton.
