Analytical Method Detection Limits shall be sufficiently low for comparison of
the results to the lowest applicable Water Quality Objectives, which may be
downloaded from the website listed in the header of this letter.
By 31 October 2006, submit a workplan for an additional investigation to determine
whether pumping from Well #2 hydraulically influences shallow groundwater. I strongly
suggest that well data loggers be used in selected monitoring wells to record any
fluctuations in water levels over a period of time sufficient to show a response from
pumping of Well #2. A report of the investigation including all data and graphs, is due
3 January 2006, and shall provide conclusions and recommendations for additional
investigation or remediation, if warranted.
Submit all documents (workplans and reports) and data in electronic format to
Geotracker, as required by the State Water Resources Control Board.
On 1 December 2006 your consultant Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc (AGE) submitted the
Static Water Level Monitoring Work Plan for evaluating Well #2. Data loggers will be installed
in monitoring wells MW-1 though MW-4 (enclosed figure), and the usage times and duration of
pumping of Well #2 will be compared against any changes recorded in water levels in the
monitoring wells. The data will be adjusted electronically to compensate for changes in
atmospheric pressure, and precipitation records will be included to consider effects of soil
infiltration as related to changes in water levels. The proposed duration of the test will be one
month of collecting the data, which will be compiled and analyzed for the report. The test will
be conducted in a non-intrusive manner due to the suspected aquitard separating the
groundwater pollution from the public supply well zone of influence.
California Enviromnental Protection Agency
Z:13i Recycled Paper
