11 ) Apply the mixed adhesive generously to the bottom and outside of the fiberglass float cup insert ,
applying a heavy amount around the lower half ( FIG 11 ) . Use chip brush to wet out the interior of the
existing float cup area . WARNING : DO NOT ALLOW ADHESIVE TO SPILL INTO THE FIBERGLASS
FLOAT CUP INSERTI CLEAN IMMEDIATELY IF THIS OCCURS .
12 ) With hoavy adhesive applied on the insert , holding the float cup with your fingers from the inside
of the insert , slowly lower it into the existing float cup . If enough adhesive was applied , some should
ooze from the top edge . Rotate the insert as best as you can until the top edge of the insert is flush
with the bottom floor of the B - 2000 UDC . If you feel that not enough adhesive was applied , remove
the cup , scrape it clean and re - apply more adhesive , then repeat step 12 until you are satisfied .
13 ) Using the chip brush , apply some adhesive to the seam between the insert and the bottom floor
of the B - 2000 UDC where they intersect .
14 ) Allow a full cure of 8 hours at or above 70 ° F. Do not allow the adhesive to come in contact with
water or moisture .
15 ) When fully cured , assemble , install and adjust your Bravo Float Trip mechanism inside the 13-2000
UDC so it can be tested .
WATER TESTING
16 ) Test tho function of the float trip by setting up the crash/shear valve and adding a few ounces of
water to the interior of the sump until the float trip mechanism actuates and tnps the crash/shear valve .
If the float cup does not raise smoothly inspect the cup insert and it's top edge where it intersects the
bottom of the pan . You may need to hand sand this area , but use only the provided 320 grit
sandpaper , not the 60/80 grit .
NOT THE ONLY ONE
INSPECT ALL FLOAT CUPS IN B-2000 UDC 's . If one float cup is corroded , others may also be
corroded or close to a breach . Suspect all float cups on a site where one corrodes through . We
recommend if possible that this FLOAT- CUP- RETROFIT- KIT be installed on each float cup .
Additional Corrosion :
If signs of additional corrosion are present , Bravo Systems recommends the following procedure .
A ) Use any solvent or cleaning solution you prefer.
B ) Scrape the bottom and/or walls with a flat4ade tool .
C ) Vacuum out any liquids , gunk , etc . .
D ) Acetone to clean the surfaces so a visual inspection can be made .
E ) Lightly sand all areas where the factory epoxy - paint is missing .
F ) Dust , blow out and/or vacuum any debris from the interior.
G ) Protect any exposed test ports or threads , remove any electronic sensors .
H ) Coat the interior well with AmerShield , covering all exposed steel .
This information , and additional information on AmerShield and proper surface preparation
techniques can be found at links provided on our FAQ page , www . sbravo . com / fag
5 ii - FLOAT- CUP - RETROFIT- KIT- 11A
