PART 1 — GENERAL <br /> 1.01 SUMMARY <br /> A. Section covers the installation of three triple probe Soil Gas monitoring well <br /> as shown on the Construction Drawings, as specified herein. Providing <br /> wells accepted by the regulatory agencies as suitable for soil gas <br /> monitoring is of the essence. <br /> 1.02 PROJECT LOCATION <br /> This work will occur at two locations. <br /> 1. Foothill Sanitary Landfill <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill is located at 6484 N Waverly Rd, about four <br /> miles east of Linden, north east of the intersection of Waverly Rd and <br /> Flood Rd. (Figure 1) <br /> 2. Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill <br /> The Corral Hollow Landfill is located at 31130 South Corral Hollow <br /> Road, in southern San Joaquin County, approximately 5 miles south <br /> of the City of Tracy, at the intersection of Interstate 580 and Corral <br /> Hollow Road. Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is a closed landfill. <br /> (Figure 1) <br /> 1.03 SITE CONDITIONS <br /> A. Existing Site Conditions <br /> At both locations, the gas monitoring wells will be installed along the <br /> perimeter of the waste management unit and not within refuse. The work of <br /> this contract does not include excavation of refuse or contact with refuse. <br /> However, the work includes drilling in the vicinity of refuse. Potential <br /> hazards exist due to the presence of these buried materials, including those <br /> associated with landfill gas. <br /> B Responsibility For Safety <br /> The contractor is solely and wholly responsible for the safety of its workers. <br /> All OSHA safety standards shall be practiced by the contractor. <br /> C Landfill Gas (LFG) <br /> Soil Gas Monitoring Well Specs San Joaquin County-Public Works <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill& 2 Solid Waste Division <br /> Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill Printed 10/10/2007 <br />
