Corral Hollow Landfill (39- -0005) Closure Cap Investigation Projeco Page 2
August 27, 2007
Any proposed mitigation of the un -capped waste must include the waste that is located on both properties.
Should Caltrans decide to conduct a clean closure on their property, the mitigation could be viewed as
two separate projects, but coordination between the agencies would still be required to ensure that the
new cap is not disturbed or damaged, and proper drainage is maintained.
You are directed to submit a timeline in coordination with Caltrans to conduct an additional investigation
to define the vertical and horizontal extent of waste and the projected dates to implement a mitigation
plan for the waste found outside of the closure cap. The timeline must also include dates for submittal of
the amended CPCMP and Closure Cost Estimate. The timeline must be received by the EHD, RWQCB,
and the CIWMB by September 21, 2007.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter. If you have any questions, please contact me at (209)
468-0332.
Sincerely,
Robert McClellon, Program Coordinator, RENS
Environmental Health Department
Todd Del Frate, California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
Michael Carroll, San Joaquin County, Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division
Michael Wochnick, California Integrated Waste Management Board
Gino Yekta, California Integrated Waste Management Board
Steve Redarte, California Department of Transportation
Sayed Ali, California Department of Transportation
