This announcement was posted March 1, and can be found at
http://www.co.san-joaguin.ca.us/pubworks/pending rfps.htm
Our tentative schedule for soliciting a consultant for this contract is as follows (all dates 2012):
March 1 —April 27 Web Posting, RFP prepared by County staff
April 30 Release RFP
Late May RFPs due
Early June Evaluate RFPs
Mid June Interviews of prospective consultants
Late June Finalize Agreement
Late July Board of Supervisors accepts consultant contract
Early August Consultant starts work
Once a consultant firm is selected, they will be tasked with developing the conceptual design for closure in
close consultation with RWQCB staff. The issues to be addressed are complex, and the time required to
address them to the satisfaction of the regulatory community is uncertain.
Upon approved by RWQCB staff and other jurisdictional agencies, the consultant will prepare detailed closure
design and CQA Plan reflecting the approved closure method. These design documents and CQA Plan will
be submitted to RWQCB staff for approval.
After receiving the review comments of this detailed design, the consultant will incorporate any needed
changes and prepare final design documents for submittal to Public Works' Design Division for County review,
finalizing, and issue for bid. We anticipate that the selected contractor can receive Notice to Proceed
approximately four months after the design is released for bid. With the assistance of the staff of the
regulatory agencies involved,we hope construction can occur in the construction season of 2013.
If you have any questions, please contact me at(209)468-8504.
Sincerely,
W.
