Comments on revised design for landfill cover extension.
Importance: High
Hello Robert
Thanks for your email regarding Corral Hollow's Closure plan addendum Revision No 2
submitted to EHD for review on November 1, 2012. We think we have the issues well
covered, but let us know if you need anything more.
1. Refuse and Burn Ash as Cover
We addressed the concern for reusing soil mixed with refuse or burn ash in the
Closure Plan Addendum Rev No 2. Please see In Appendix 1 "Technical
Specification" of the Closure Plan, Section 02200 page 9 Section 3.08 5 and
Section 3.14 C. We tell the contractor what to do with refuse and burn ash when
excavated, but it cannot be used as cover.
Excavated material will only be used for Earth fill or Vegetative cover if it meets
suitability requirements per 02200 1.05 2D. If the excavated material is not
suitable, then the Earthfill and Vegetative layer soil will be excavated from the on-
site soil retention pond (Section 02200 Page 5 and 6).
2.
