All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #2 Pool Enclosure <br /> OBSERVATIONS: It was asked regarding the pool enclosure. The current fence is approved. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool area shall be enclosed by one or more of the following:a fence,portion of a building, wall, or other <br /> approved durable enclosure. Pool enclosure shall be constructed over a hard permanent material equivalent to concrete and shall be <br /> installed no more than 2 inches above the finished grade. Holes, gaps, or openings in the enclosure shall not allow the passage of a <br /> 4-inch diameter sphere. Doors, openable windows, or gates of living quarters shall not be permitted as part of the pool enclosure. (CBC <br /> 31198) Pool operator shall keep the pool enclosure well maintained. (CCR 65535) Pool enclosure shall have a minimum effective <br /> perpendicularheightof 5 feet and shall be constructed so that it cannot be climbed by small children. Horizontal members shall be spaced <br /> at least 48 inches apart. No planters or other climbable structures shall be permitted within 5 feet of the pool enclosure or within a 5-foot <br /> arc. Chain link openings shall not be larger than 1314 inches when measured horizontally. Pool enclosures with a height of 4 ormore feet <br /> are allowed if the enclosure was constructed prior to July 1994.(CBC 3119B) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Provide all signs required. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained.(CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br /> letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br /> permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified.(CBC 31208) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Provide a body hood and a life ring. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION.,Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ling with an attached throw <br /> rope.
