Program Coordinator
Project: Valverde Park Interactive Water Feature
Dear Jeff,
Telephone 505-326-7177
Fax 505-326-7100
I have made the following design changes to the submitted drawings for the water feature to
be installed known as the Valverde Park Interactive Water Feature. The revised drawings
have been sent to Conrad Driscoll at KLA.
1).The water vault has been changed from a 1000 gallon capacity to a 4000 gallon capacity.
2). A note was added to the drawings stating: "The splash zone shall be sloped so that only
water from the interactive water fountain flows back to the underground reservoir. Areas
adjacent to the splash zone shall be sloped away from the interactive water fountain to
deck drains or other surface water disposal systems in order to keep unwanted fertilizers,
dirt, and contaminants from entering the reservoir."
3). The filter pump has been changed to a 2 hp pump that will provide a turn over rate of at
least once every 30 minutes. Water turnover will be equal to or greater than 133 gpm.
Two sand filters of 4.91 sq. ft with a maximum flow rate of 98 gpm each are included
in the revised drawings.
4). A note has been provided on the revised drawings that states: Sign to be placed at the all
entrances to the fountain providing the following information:
CHEMICALLY TREATED WATER — DO NOT DRINK
