Florido,Elianna [EHD]
From: Blair,Bryan <bryan.blair@autozone.com>
Sent: Tuesday,May 4,2021 7:30 AM
To: Florido,Elianna[EHD]
Subject: RE:AutoZone#2858
Attachments: PR0546403-1100 Wilson-Compliance-4-21-21 Inspection-blank RTC form-MANIFESTS.pdf,PR0514453-1100 Wilson-
Compliance-4-21-21 Inspection Training.pdf
CAUTION:This email is originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
Inspector Florido,
Please find attached the Return to Compliance forms for both violations. Please review and let me know if the
following information will suffice in closing the information.
1. Hazardous Waste Manifests missing the state waste codes: AutoZone is currently parting ways with
Safety-Kleen as our California Oil vendor. By the end of this month all oil collection in all remaining
stores in California should be switched over to World Oil. I have spoken with Safety-Kleen to let them
know of their mistakes and will also speak with out new vendor to ensure all waste codes appear on all
environmental documentation.
2. Employees not properly trained: After reviewing the inspection notice I sent An Van Hoose, one of
California Environmental Specialists to the store to re-train the employees at this location. She spent
time ensuring that the employees and in particular the Store Manager understood the differences in
cleaning an oil spill vs a chemical spill. She instructed them on the proper clean up and disposal of oil
generated waste vs that of chemical waste and which container the respective wastes went in. She then
followed up with a speaking to the entire Region about the differences of handling and disposing of oil
and chemical waste.
Please review and let me know if this response will suffice or if you have any questions.
Regards!
Bryan Blair
Environmental Specialist
901-413-4823
bryan.blair@autozone.com
From: Florido, Elianna [EHD] <eflorido@sjgov.org>
Sent: Monday, May 3, 20213:23 PM
To: Blair, Bryan <bryan.blair@autozone.com>
Subject: RE: AutoZone#2858
Hi Bryan,
Attached is the Used Oil Collection Center hazardous waste inspection report, Return To Compliance Certification form,
and inspection photos for Autozone#2858.
