Groundwater in the vicinity of the site is contaminated <br />with halignated vorle origovInic compounds (HVOCs). The MAID has been actively involved <br />with th wi 14r. outkawater contamination problem in the area. Laboratory analyses of groundwater <br />sample‘aolfgeted from three domestic drinking water wells screened in a shallow aquifer have <br />indicated the presence of HVOCs. One of the domestic wells, that served approximately 45 <br />people, has been closed due to HVOC contamination. The other two domestic wells, that serve <br />approximately 6 people each, are still operating. The municipal drinking water wells in the <br />vicinity of the site are screened in a deeper aquifer.
