Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment <br />United Storage <br />2115 West Washington Street <br />Stockton, California <br />Delta Project No. A002-124-1 <br />Page 2 <br />8,900 square meters in size. The property, buildings, tanks, and dock lines are owned by United Storage <br />and are operated as a bulk storage and distribution facility for animal feed products. The access road is <br />leased from the Port of Stockton. Thirty-two aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), with a total storage <br />volume of approximately 27,870 cubic meters, are located at the property. A tank inventory conducted in <br />May 2002 documented the storage of the following products: molasses, whey, water, fat, vegetable oil, <br />steepwater, UltraFerm, Pre-Gel, Masonex, urea, 10-34-0, salt, ammonium sulfate, magnesium chloride, <br />phosphoric acid, hydrochloric acid, dolomite, limestone, potash, and dry clay. <br />For a detailed presentation of the site history, environmental setting, and facility operations, refer to the <br />ARCADIS G&M Phase I EAS (Appendix A). <br />3.0 FIELD PROCEDURES AND OBSERVATIONS <br />3.1 Justification for Borehole Placement <br />Delta proposed the advancement of ten soil borings at the subject property based on the results of the <br />ARCADIS G&M Phase I EAS (Appendix A). Justification for the location of each borehole is summarized <br />below: <br />• B-1 Positioned near a former diesel underground storage tank (UST) <br />• B-2 Positioned near a former gasoline UST <br />• B-3 Positioned near a former UST (contents unknown) <br />• B-4 Positioned near a former UST (contents unknown) <br />• B-5 Positioned in an area of historical UN32 release(s) <br />• B-6 Positioned adjacent to an AST that has contained UN32 <br />• B-7 Positioned adjacent to an AST that has contained fuel oil <br />• B-8 Positioned adjacent to an AST that has contained fuel oil <br />• B-9 Positioned in an area of observed soil staining, new tank No. 45 (contains fuel oil) <br />• B-10 Positioned near the downgradient edge of property to assess overall ground water quality <br />3.2 Underground Utility Clearance <br />Prior to the start of drilling, underground utilities were located by utility company representatives with the <br />assistance of Underground Service Alert (USA) One Call (Ticket No 406077).
