Please send me an email of what we discussed on the
phone today. I may not have understood you clearly since I was next to a drill rig at the time.
If I understood you correctly, you plan to 'clean up' some of the waste currently in the septic tank by introducing
chlorine bleach IN the septic tank??? I caution you against this since we don't really know what condition the
septic tank is in. If cracks/holes are present and the bleach seeps out and into the soil below/around the tank,
you could be placing the RP in jeopardy of purposefully contaminating the soil/gw, to say nothing of our SJ
County Sewage Ordinance that prohibits introduction of 'hazardous materials' into a septic tank.
I recommend you do any treatment of the waste OUTSIDE of the septic tank..
let me know your plans, and hopefully BEFORE you do them....
Michael J. lnfurna Jr.
Senior REHS.
