West Ln.
Stockton, CA 95205
APR 0 6 2006
CO#: 0024238
Acct ID#: 0017786
On March 28, 2006, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
received notification that the contents of the septic tank at the above referenced facility
had a chemical odor. Please be advised that disposal of solvents, toxics and hazardous
wastes are prohibited from being discharged into septic systems pursuant to San
Joaquin County Ordinance Code Section 9-1110.7. If there has been an illegal disposal
of waste into your septic system, an environmental assessment must be conducted.
Please provide EHD with any knowledge you have of an illegal disposal into the septic
system so we can provide guidance on performing an environmental assessment of your
septic system. Since ground water is a source of drinking water, subsurface waste
disposal is regulated under the United States Safe Drinking Water Act.
EHD has implemented a Local Agency Groundwater Protection/Underground Injection
Control (UIC) Program in accordance with guidelines prepared by the United States
Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The primary focus of the program is to
protect drinking water by identification and evaluation of subsurface disposal of waste
fluids that may lead to the degradation of drinking water supplies.
Please provide EHD with a description of the septic systems on your property and how
many people are served by each system. Also provide a description of your storm water
disposal and any disposal wells (dry well or sumps) used for storm water disposal.
Following review of the information submitted, EHD may request modifications to
wastewater disposal activities at your site and provide other guidance.
Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environme I alth Department
Michael Infurna, Senior REF'S
UIC / Unit IV
Margaret Lagorio,
Supervising REHS
