WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -6- <br />CALIFORNIA AMMONIA COMPANY <br />CALAMCO - STOCKTON TERMINAL <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />The Board, in a public meeting, heard and considered all comments pertaining to the <br />discharge. <br />This Order shall serve as an NPDES permit pursuant to Section 402 of the Clean Water <br />Act (CWA), and amendments thereto, and shall take effect upon the date of hearing, <br />provided EPA has no objections. <br />IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Order No. 96-803 is rescinded and that California Ammonia <br />Company, its agents, successors and assigns, in order to meet the provisions contained in <br />Division 7 of the California Water Code and regulations adopted thereunder, an( he provisions of <br />the Clean Water Act and regulations and guidelines adopted thereunder, shall comply with the <br />following: <br />A. Discharge Prohibitions: <br />Discharge of wastewater at a location or in a manner different from that described in <br />Finding No. 4 is prohibited. <br />The by-pass or overflow of wastes to surface waters is prohibited, except as allowed by <br />the attached Standard Provisions and Reporting Requirements A.13. <br />Discharge of materials, other than storm water, that is not otherwise permitted by this <br />Order to surface water or surface water drainage courses is prohibited. <br />B. Effluent Limitations: <br />Effluent ammonia concentrations shall not exceed corresponding influent ammonia <br />concentrations, except due to inherent analytical variations of lab testing results. <br />The discharge shall not have a pH less than 6.5 (except when influent pH is less than <br />6.5) nor greater than 8.5, except in accordance with Provision D.1. <br />The 30-day average daily discharge shall not exceed 5.8 mgd and the maximum daily <br />discharge shall not exceed 11.7 mgd.
