Miller :
On March 26, and 289 19879 ten landfill gas monitoringprobes
were installed for the County by EMCON Associates along the
perimeter of the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill . Th wells were
monitored and tested on March 28 andApril 3, 1987. Th
results of these tests are transmitted as Attachment A for your
review.
Generally the ss showed that landfill gas has migrated
through subsurface soils near the landfill t concentrations
greater than 5 percent in areas near five of the wells tested.
Since these results indicate that landfill gas may have
migrated h Migrant Farm Labor Camp adjacent to the
northwest side of the landfill , EMCON has recommended further
monitoring in this area. The report is being forwarded
to Joseph Artesi , Housing Supervisor , of the an Joaquin County
Housing Authority with a recommendation that theHousing
Authority implement the as monitoring recommendations stated
in the report.
Should you desire any additional information regarding this
matter please contact me at 944-2275.
Sincerel4t-*--
Tom Horton
Solidase Manager
H: U:nc
L 114 1 '71 m
Attachment
