1' r i
II 'jW
July 1, 1988
County of San Joaquin Public Works
1810 E. Hazelton
Stockton, CA 95205
Subject: Sampling and Analysis of Monitoring Wells at the Harney Lane
Sanitary Landfill.
Attention: Mark Urkhart
Dear Mr. Urkhart;
On May 24,1988 California Water Lab's (CWL's) Field Support Service Group
sampled monitoring wells for County of San Joaquin Public Works at the
Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill in Lodi, California.
Three of four monitoring wells were sampled that day, (MW-1,2 and 3) .
The fourth well (MW-4) was not sampled on this date because the purge line
for the dedicated pump was disconnected from the well casing and needed
repair. This well was later sampled on June 14, 1988 after repairs were
made.
The water level and depth of each well was measured using an electric
sounder prior to purge and sampling events. Groundwater elevations were
determined utilizing water-level measurements from field data and USGS
datum of well casing elevation provided by County of San Joaquin Public
Works. Examples of the calculations made are provided in Table I.
TABLE I
Calculation of Groundwater Elevation
Elevation to Depth of Water
Top of Casing From Top of Groundwater Elevation
Well I.D.
