` J
CAC SECTION OBSERVATIONS RESULT
17735 Recording. This site pre-dates the implementation N
of this standard.
DISPOSAL SITE SPECIAL WASTES.
17741 Burning Wastes. I did not observe burning wastes at C
this site. The established procedure
for handling burning wastes was
described to me by Kenneth Belcher,
Solid Waste Foreman. Burning material
is isolated from the active face, then
soaked with water and covered with soil.
17742 Hazardous I observed 15-20 fifty-five gallon I
Wastes. barrels to the south of the site
office. The barrels contained various
levels of used oil. Section 66508
limits the accumulation time of
hazardous waste to 90 days. If
hazardous material is stored longer
than 90 days a special permit is
required. Future inspectors should
review the schedule of
removal/accumulation in determining
compliance to this section.
Note: I observed two crushed
batteries at the foot of the metal
salvage pile. The corrosive material
in batteries is classified as -
hazardous. If batteries are to be
reclaimed they should be segregated in
a safe location. (See slide I .32) .
17743 Liquid Wastes. I did not observe liquid wastes C
received at this site.
17744 Dead Animals. I did not observe dead animals C
received at this site. Small bagged
dead animals are occasionally
received.
Page No 11 of 12 Inspector: ,,
