X <br />17867(a)(9) - Fire Prevention, Protection and Control <br />Comments: A pile of finished compost at the south end of the facility was producing a light amount of smoke. <br />Facility water truck is currently inoperable. <br />A. The operator shall provide fire prevention, protection and control measures, including, but not limited to, <br />temperature monitoring of windrows and piles, adequate water supply for fire suppression, and the isolation of <br />potential ignition sources from combustible materials. Firelanes shall be provided to allow fire control equipment <br />access to all operation areas. <br />B. Repair water truck or obtain alternative water source for fire suppression. Disband hot piles upon discovery to <br />prevent fire from occurring. <br />x <br />17869(c) - Public Complaints <br />Comments: Documentation was not available for complaint received by facility regarding trucks pulling out onto <br />Frewert Rd without stopping. <br />A. The operator shall record any public complaints received by the operator, including: <br />-the nature of the complaint, <br />-the date the complaint was received, <br />-if available, the name, address, and telephone number of the person or persons making the complaint, and <br />-any actions taken to respond to the complaint. <br />B. Ensure all items listed above are completed when a complaint is received. <br />Inspection Report Comments: <br />Notes: <br />1.) Temperature of ground waste was 167F. <br />2.) Facility has begun clearing material accumulated in between windrows. <br />3.) Facility plans to place a stop sign near facility exit so that trucks do not drive straight onto Frewert Rd. This is being <br />done in response to the complaint that was received. <br />4.)
