8.2 Well Destruction Procedure
The wells will be abandoned according to California Department of Water Resources (DWR)
Water Well Standards (Bulletins 74-81 and 74-90) and EHD requirements. During abandonment,
the well monuments, concrete pads, and surrounding bollards will be removed. The upper five
feet of each well will also be removed and the well casings will be sealed using a neat cement
from the bottom of the wells to approximately five feet below surface grade. Clean fill will be placed
in the remaining annulus to surface grade.
9.0 REPORTING AND SCHEDULING
Field activities will be initiated after receiving the RWQCB's authorization to proceed, obtaining
the well installation permits, and securing the NOI. A Well Installation and Pilot Test
Implementation Report will be submitted after completing the injection field activities. At a
minimum, the report will contain:
• Descriptions of the well installation and destruction methods;
• Boring logs and well construction diagrams;
• Details of well development method and the development logs;
• Well sampling field logs;
• Descriptions of the injection methods and volumes;
• Figures depicting well locations and pre-injection groundwater analytical data;
• Laboratory analytical report; and
• Well survey data.
The post-injection groundwater analytical results will be reported in the subsequent semi-annual
groundwater monitoring and sampling reports for the site.
CPS Stockton, California 8
Pilot Test Work Plan
