Work Plan—Site Sampling Page 13 West Weber Site-Stockton GPE Project 536.2 • Volatile organic compounds by EPA method 8260, Upon retrieval, each soil or groundwater sample will be transported to Argon Laboratories of Ceres, CA a California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) certified laboratory (certification # 2359) for analytical testing using one or more of the following analyses as described above: • Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline by EPA method 8015m, • Total Extractible Petroleum Hydrocarbons (diesel or oil)by EPA method 8015m and, • Semi-volatile organic compounds by EPA method 8270, • Volatile organic compounds by EPA method 8260b, • CAM 17 Metals by EPA method 7000 • Organochlorine pesticides by EPA method 8081 A The laboratory detection limits and the full list of analytes are shown in Appendix B. After labeling, the samples will be placed in a cooler chilled with water ice pending transport to the analytical laboratory under chain-of-custody protocol. Chain of custody (CofC) forms are documents used to track the handling of samples. All dates, times, persons and companies handling the samples are listed from the time the sample is collected to its ultimate disposal. Sampling equipment will be steam cleaned or double washed using a non-phosphate detergent after every use and rinsed with de-ionized water. 2.1.4 Soil Boring/Groundwater Sampling and Analysis Prior to installing the proposed soil borings, the required drilling permit will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, and Underground Service Alert will be contacted to mark the areas for the locations of buried utility installations. RSI Drilling of Woodland, a C-57 licensed drilling contractor (C-57 No. 802334), will drill the soil borings using 2-inch outside diameter, GeoProbe tools. A total of 14 soil borings (not including 12 soil gas borings) described above will be advance to collect soil from deeper horizons and groundwater samples. The borings will be advanced at several sites as follows: Former Bulk Terminal—6 borings A group of authoritatively selected borings will be installed at six points within the footprint of the former fuel bulk terminal (see the attached site maps). Each boring will be continuously cored and at least two soil samples from each boring will be submitted for analysis. A groundwater sample from each boring will also be submitted for laboratory analysis. A total of at least 12 soil and 6 groundwater samples will be collected for analysis.
