2.0 OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 2.1 Objective <br /> The objective of this phase of the investigation is to attempt to determine the presence or <br /> absence of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in the soil at selected locations on the site. <br /> In order to accomplish the above-stated objective, the following scope of work is <br /> proposed. <br /> 2.2 Scope of Work <br /> The following scope of work is proposed to be conducted to achieve the objectives of this <br /> phase of the project: <br /> • Install up to ten (10) soil borings to a maximum depth of 10 feet each using a <br /> GeoProbe drilling rig. <br /> • Collect representative soil samples from each of the soil borings. <br /> • Submit up to 10 soil samples to a certified analytical laboratory for analysis of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons using approved methodologies. <br /> • Prepare a Phase II Soil Investigation Report at the conclusion of the project. <br /> 3.0 SITE WORK PLAN <br /> The following sections describe the methodology to be employed in conducting the tasks <br /> outlined in Section 2.2. <br /> 3.1 Soil Boring Installation <br /> Prior to initiating drilling activities, Underground Service Alert will be notified to locate <br /> and mark any underground utilities near the proposed work area. At least 24 hours <br /> advance notice will be given to the appropriate regulatory agencies prior to beginning any <br /> field work.
