Contaminated personal protective equipment will not be removed from the site <br /> until properly cleaned, packaged, and labeled; <br /> All personnel entering the Exclusion zone wear the proper personal protective <br /> equipment as designated in the Project Health and Safety Plan. Such individuals <br /> shall be trained in the proper use and maintenance, and have been deemed <br /> physically fit by a licensed medical physician, to wear such equipment. All <br /> equipment shall be inspected prior to donning. For Level C and higher protection, <br /> gloves and boots shall be taped to protective clothing to ensure complete closure; <br /> If unanticipated hazardous materials are observed, suspected, or personnel exhibit <br /> symptoms of distress, the Health and Safety Officer shall conduct an investigation <br /> to identify the material. Work may be halted and samples collected at the <br /> discretion of the Health and Safety Officer; <br /> The Project Manager, Health and Safety Officer, project personnel, and <br /> subcontractors shall periodically observe personnel for symptoms of distress. <br /> Symptoms of distress shall include the following: <br /> ° Changes in speech patterns; <br /> ° Nervousness or excitability; <br /> ° Changes in complexion, skin discoloration; <br /> ° Changes in disposition or demeanor; <br /> Signs of incoordination; <br /> ° Excessive salivation or pupillary response. <br /> All personnel are required to contact their supervisor, Project Manager, or Health <br /> and Safety Officer if they experience any ill effects, such as: <br /> ° Headache; <br /> Dizziness; <br /> ° Blurred Vision; <br /> Heat Stress; <br /> ° Irritation to eyes, mucous membranes, respiratory tract, or skin. <br /> All mechanical equipment shall be parked or stored in a safe location as <br /> designated by the Project Manager at the end of each workday. <br /> In the event the work is performed contrary to provisions and specifications of the <br /> work plan, permits, regulations, inspection, or any manner which is likely to <br /> endanger any person or the public, the work shall be stopped by the Project <br /> Manager or any other authorized representative. <br /> American Geological Services,Inc. <br /> 11 <br />
