Enclosed is a copy of the Fourth Ouarter
and Annua12003 Monitoring Report for the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill, submitted in compliance with
current WDRs.
Parameters in all wells were below the established concentration limits for all quarters, with the exception
of up-gradient well MW-1, where Chloride and Electrical Conductivity exceeded those limits. We
believe that variation in the up-gradient well indicates natural variation in groundwater that can be
expected at all yells.
In addition, it appears that the corrective action continues to improve water quality. The number of VOCs
reported at the impacted well continues to decrease, while no VOCs other than "false positives" were
reported in the un-impacted groundwater monitoring wells in 2003.
The cover re-conditioning project was substantially complete by the end of December, significantly
improving cover drainage. If you have any questions, please call me at (209)468-3066.
Sincerely,
W.
