The low
end of pH appears to be low at 5.7. Please provide the initial analysis for how concentration limits were derived for
surface water and whether the values should be changed/updated.
Comment 2.u. = MW-4 continues to have increasing concentrations of uhloride,-which has been claimed to be from the
upgradient wastewater treatment ponds. The report states that the increases in chloride in MW-1 and MW-2 are
probably due to a regional change in land use in the County, such as planting and irrigating vineyards and other crops
where non-irrigated grazing land once stood. Appendix I: Progress of Corrective Action Measures states that the
Water Quality Protection Standard for chloride is 250 mg/L. The most limiting value is 106 mg/L as the Agricultural
Water Quality Goal (Food&Ag. Org. of United Nations) for groundwater and surface water.
