We are pleased that no combustible gas has been
detected in any monitoring event at these foundation vents, indicating that LFG is not migrating to those
structures. Per your request,we have asked SCS Field Services to monitor those foundation vents
weekly. We will include these data in our next quarterly report.
We completed the repairs to the LFG system on September 16,2004, and have increased LFG collection
rate from approximately 260 cfm to 350 cfm, with the additional flow being drawn from the portion of the
landfill where migration is indicated. We expect that this flow rate will be reduced later as the LFG is
"drawn down",but with this increased collection rate,we believe that we will soon bring the
concentration of combustible gas at all probes to below 5 percent. We have also accelerated the LFG well
field adjustments to bring the probes into compliance quickly.
If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 8-3066.
Sincerely,
MICHAEL CARROLL, PE
Senior Civil Engineer
MC:mr
WlHamey Lane\LFG MonitData\2004\3rdQtr2004RptCoverLetter.doc
Enclosure
c: Mr. Gino Yekta
California Integrated Waste Management Board
Cal-EPA Building, 10011 Street
Sacramento, California 95812-4025
LA 11458
