California <br /> Preliminar}- Site Characterization Report <br /> Report of Findings <br /> 1.0 Project Identification <br /> WHF, Inc., was contracted by Mr. Nom Hunter of Hunter Container Company to investigate the <br /> lateral and vertical extent of a reported accidental release. The U_ S. Can Company property, formerly <br /> Hunter Container Company, has a physical address known as 3527-5 Eghwa}• 33, Vernalis, California <br /> (Figure 1 and Figure 2). <br /> 2.0 Site Descriptio: and History <br /> Oil buy 9, 1995, ERM conducted four (4) hared borings, HB-3, I-M-4, HB-5, and HB-6 to ten 0 0) <br /> feet b.g.l. in order to establish the later:J and vertical extent of contamination (Figure 2). <br /> Contamination was identified in all four of the hand borings located directly adjacent to the main <br /> warehouse building. <br /> 1 Concentrations of Ethylbenzene and Trichloroethylene (TCE',) were detected at depths of 4, 6, 8, and <br /> 10 feet with the HB-3 samples. The FE -4 samples had concentrations of Ethylbenzene and TCE at 8 <br /> feet b.g.l. and Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene at 8 and lu feet below ground level (b.g.l.). All analytes <br /> ,.{ were "ND", none detected, for the HB-5 samples.
