GEOMATRIX
5.0 CONCLUSIONS
No TCE or other non-petroleum VOCs have been detected in the deeper soil samples or
groundwater collected in the vicinity of the former drain pipe and TCE is therefore isolated to
shallow soil in this area of the site. The lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-
affected soil on the subject property has been assessed. TPHd in downgradient groundwater
samples were either non-detect or below water quality objectives. The presence of TPHg,
'
benzene, and naphthalene detected in the groundwater sample collected from GMX-6 are likely
from an off-site source and are not from residual crude oil originating from the OVP; GMX-6
was advanced adjacent to a former gasoline station. No other dissolved petroleum constituents
were detected in the groundwater samples collected downgradient of the residual oil-affected
soil; therefore, the residual petroleum in soil at the Welty Road site is not a significant source
of dissolved petroleum constituents to groundwater. Geomatrix concludes that site
characterization is complete.
i
1
L•1pOC SAFE15000S1536d1SOlL GW RPTDOC 5
