All the special -status plants identified in Table 3-3 occur in
habitat types that do not occur in the site. Due to its ephemeral flow regime, Bieghle
Drain does not contain marsh or swamp habitat required by several of the special -status
plant species in Table 3-3. While the project site may have provided habitat for one or
more of the special -status wildlife species listed in Table 3-3 at some time in the past,
intensive farming and development have substantially modified natural habitats in the
greater project vicinity, including those in the site. Only three special -status wildlife
species have the potential to occur on the project site on more than a transitory or very
occasional basis:
• Swainson's Hawk. Swainson's hawk is listed as a threatened species under the
California Endangered Species Act.
