Tier 2 applies numeric screening criteria to existing or newly
collected soil, soil gas and/or groundwater monitoring results to provide greater certainty
to whether or not a VEC exists. The Tier 2 screening involve a Plume Test and Critical
Distance Determination. The Critical Distance Determination requires that the edge
of the plume be known. The Critical Distance is the lineal distance in any direction
between the nearest edge of the contaminated plume and the nearest SP boundary.
A Tier 2 Screening was not warranted for the subject property.
CONCLUSIONS
(1) Conclusions: Impact on Subject Property
A VEC exists
X A VEC does not exist
Buonicore, A.J., 2011, Methodology for Identifying the Area of Concern Around a Property Potentially
Impacted by Vapor Migration from Nearby Contaminated Sources, Paper #2011 -A-301 -AWMA.
