Site Characterization - Second Event Page 14
Former Karlson Trucking Facility
Project No. 191.2
April 27, 2000
3.2 Recommendations
Based on the conclusions discussed above, Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
recommends the following:
1. Given the information collected during the completion of this field work
and the conclusions outlined above, no further work should be completed
to investigate the vertical extent of hydrocarbon contamination.
2. The site should be further evaluated by conducting two quarters of
groundwater monitoring. Upon completion of two additional events, a
determination should be made as to the need (if any) for additional lateral
investigation groundwater.
3. Assuming it can be shown that the groundwater plume is stable or
decreasing, it is our suspicion that this site is unlikely to pose a risk to
human health. Upon completion of the additional 2 monitoring events,
consideration should be given to completing a risk assessment in
' preparation for risk based closure in accordance with Appendix B of the
Tri-Regional Guidelines document.
4. It is proposed that all soil be disposed of on site as grading material and
all purge, development and decontamination water be disposed of on site.
2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
