School Street <br /> Lodi, CA 95240 <br /> RE: Site Characterization II <br /> Former Karlson Trucking Facility, 9909 East Woodward Avenue,Manteca, CA <br /> Dear Mr.Welch: <br /> Geo-Phase Environmental Inc. is pleased to submit this Work Plan for the construction of two <br /> additional monitoring wells, completion of vertical characterization work and complete supplemental <br /> horizontal characterization work. This work is pursuant items discussed in the meeting of November <br /> 15, including the following: <br /> • The installation of four Geo-Probe soil borings to 20 feet to further define the horizontal extent of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater. <br /> • The installation of one Geo-Probe soil boring to 30 feet in the vicinity of MW-4. Two water <br /> samples will be collected from this boring at discrete intervals. This work is intended to <br /> determine the vertical extent of down gradient contamination. <br /> • The installation of two soil borings to 20 feet below grade for later construction of groundwater <br /> monitoring wells. <br /> • The collection of at least one soil sample from each of these borings, which will be submitted for <br /> analysis for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline, Total Extractable Petroleum <br /> Hydrocarbons and Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl Benzene and Total Xylenes. <br /> • The destruction of MW-5 by pressure grouting the well. <br /> • The development and sampling of the 2 recently constructed monitoring wells (MW-6 and MW-7 <br /> as well as the sampling of the four existing wells(MW-1-MW-4). <br /> • Preparation of a report to document the results of field work, laboratory testing, and the <br /> implications of the data. <br /> If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
