Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan - Former Hydraulic Lift Area
Former TRADEWAY CHEVROLET FACILITY
1460 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Bill Filios of AKF Development, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan for
the property located at 1460 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California. The location of the site
is illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Map. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan.
This Work Plan is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division
(SJCEHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for
the investigation of UST sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is presently undeveloped. The former Tradeway Chevrolet facility, an auto sales and service
facility, was recently demolished in expectation of commercial redevelopment of the property.
2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is bounded on the east by Highway 99, on the north by Yosemite Avenue and on the south
and west by undeveloped properties.
2.2. PREVIOUS SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION
A total of 17 soil probe borings (P-1 through P-17) were advanced in the vicinity of the former
gasoline UST, the former waste oil UST, hydraulic lifts, and areas of surficial staining (Figure 2).
Soil probe borings were advanced by Geoprobe techniques. Soil probe boring procedures are
presented in Appendix A.
Soil probe borings P-1 through P-9 were advanced adjacent to active in -ground hydraulic lifts
located in the dealership service area. Soil probe borings P-11 through P-12 were advanced adjacent
to active in -ground hydraulic lifts located in the auto body shop building. Probe borings P-13 and
P-14 were located at areas of surficial staining observed along the southeast corner of the dealership
service department, as well as the southeast corner of the auto body shop. The areas of surficial
staining appeared related to hydraulic lift pressure -release outlets at the locations. Soil probe boring
P-15 was advanced adjacent to an abandoned in -ground hydraulic lift located in the wash -down and
detailing unit of the auto body shop building. Soil probe borings P-16 and P-17 were completed at
the former locations of the waste oil UST and gasoline UST, respectively.
