Exhibit A
Multi-Modal Station/Shopping Center Phase II ESA
Page 3
Groundwater samples collected from the borings will be analyzed for volatile organic
compounds by EPA Method 8260. Based upon assumed contamination, additional borings,
estimated at 20% of the original number, will be required to further investigate the
contamination. Contamination detected in the groundwater samples will introduce the need for
discrete soil sample analysis at an estimated 25% of the borings. The discrete soil samples will
be analyzed for volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8260 (on-site mobile laboratory),
semi-volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8270, and LUFT-5 metals by EPA Method
6010B. It is assumed that any detected contamination at depth will require an estimated 10% of
the discrete soil samples to be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons by EPA Method
8015M. Analyses will be conducted at an off-site laboratory.
TASK C
Subtask 1 —Stockton Metropolitan Transit Building(730 East Channel Street)
Nine Geoprobe soil borings will be completed on the Stockton Metropolitan Transit Building site
at 730 E. Channel Street. These borings will be installed to approximately 75 feet bgs. Soil
samples will be collected at 4, 8, and 12 feet bgs to help assess the potential contamination at the
site. One borehole will be left open during the day to collect depth-to-groundwater
measurements once the groundwater has stabilized.
The three soil samples from each boring will be composited by the laboratory and analyzed for
volatile organic compounds by EPA Method 8260. Apparent contamination will introduce the
need for additional borings estimated at 20% of the original number. Contamination noted in the
laboratory results will require discrete soil sample analysis at approximately 33% of the borings.
The discrete soil samples will be analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method 8260, semi-VOCs by EPA
Method 8270, and LUFT-5 metals by EPA Method 6010B. Detected and observed contamination
will also require the collection of groundwater samples from an estimated 33% of the boreholes.
These groundwater samples will be analyzed for volatile organic compounds by EPA Method
8260. Analyses will be conducted at an off-site laboratory.
Subtask 2 — Former Gas Station (808 East Miner Avenue)
Four Geoprobe soil borings will be completed on the site of a former gas station at 808 E.
Miner Avenue. These borings will be to a depth of 12 feet bgs. Soil samples at 4, 8, and 12
feet bgs will be collected to help assess the potential contamination at the site. The boreholes
will be left open during the day to collect depth-to-groundwater measurements once the
groundwater has stabilized.
The three soil samples from each boring will be composited by the laboratory and analyzed for
VOCs by EPA Method 8260, and for organic lead by the LUFT method. Based on any detected
contamination, it is assumed that additional borings estimated at 20% of the original number will
be needed. Any detected contamination in the composite soil samples will require those samples
be analyzed as discrete soil samples, at an estimated 20% of the borings. Analyses will be
conducted at an off-site laboratory.
TASK D
Subtask 1 — Block 1 Borings
Fifteen Geoprobe soil borings will be completed on the site designated Block 1. Seven borings
will be completed to 12 feet bgs and one to approximately 75 feet bgs at 722 E. Miner Avenue.
Four borings will be completed to 12 feet bgs and one to approximately 75 feet bgs at 750 E.
