Exhibit A
Multi-Modal Station/Shopping Center Phase II ESA
Page 5
contamination at the properties. Soil samples will be collected from 4, 8, and 12 feet bgs at each
boring. The two boreholes completed to approximately 75 feet bgs will be left open during the
day to collect depth to groundwater measurements once the groundwater has stabilized.
The three soil samples collected from each boring will be composited and analyzed for VOCs by
EPA Method 8260. Apparent contamination will introduce the need for additional borings
estimated at 20% of the original number. Contamination noted in the laboratory results will
require discrete soil sample analysis at approximately 20% of the borings. The discrete soil
samples will be analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method 8260, semi-VOCs by EPA Method 8270,
and total petroleum hydrocarbons by EPA Method 8015M. In addition, each of the discrete soil
samples taken from a depth of four feet bgs will be analyzed for LUFT-5 metals by EPA Method
6010B. Groundwater samples will be analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method 8260 (on-site mobile
laboratory). Visually apparent contamination will introduce the need for additional borings
estimated at 10% of the original number of borings to approximately 75 feet bgs. Analyses will
be conducted at an off-site laboratory.
Subtask 4 — Block 4 Borings
Nine soil borings will be completed on the site designated Block 4. Four borings completed to 12
feet bgs and two to approximately 75 feet bgs will be installed at 701 E. Weber Avenue. Three
soil borings completed to twelve feet bgs will be installed at 729 E. Weber Avenue. Groundwater
and soil samples will be collected to help assess the potential contamination at the properties.
Soil samples will be collected from 4, 8, and 12 feet bgs at each boring. Four
borings will be completed to 12 feet bgs at 820 E. Channel Street. Three soil borings completed
to 12 feet bgs will be installed at 815 E. Weber Avenue. Five borings to 12 feet bgs and one to approximately 75 feet
bgs will be installed at 843 E. Weber Avenue. One boring to approximately 75 feet bgs will be
installed at 805 E. Weber Avenue. Two borings completed to 12 feet bgs will be installed at 836
E. Channel Street (APN 139-280-04 and 139-280-05). One boring completed to 12 feet bgs will
be installed at each of the following sites: 144 N. Grant Street, 814 E. Channel Street, and 147 N.
Aurora Street.
