L & M OPERABLE UNIT - FIRST QUARTER 2012 SITE STATUS, REMEDIAL SUMMARY, <br />AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br />Appendix C <br />Page 2 <br />Standard Procedure for Groundwater Sampling—Petroleum Hydrocarbons (continued) <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Into laboratory provided, pre-cleaned, hydrochloric acid-preserved and unpreserved 1,000 mL <br />round amber glass bottles for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons in diesel range organics by <br />EPA Method 8015 and nitric acid-preserved 500 mL round plastic bottles for analysis of dissolved <br />lead by EPA Method 6010B. <br />Labels documenting sample number, well identification, collection date and time, type of sample <br />and type of preservative (if applicable) are affixed to each sample. The samples are then placed <br />into an ice-filled cooler for delivery under chain-of-custody to a laboratory certified to perform the <br />specified tests by the State of California Department of Health Services Environmental Laboratory <br />Accreditation Program. <br />Containment and Disposal of Generated Purge Water <br />Purge water generated during the field activities is retained on-site in appropriate containers (i.e. <br />Department Of Transportation approved drums) for future disposal. Purge water removed from <br />the Site is delivered under appropriate manifest to a facility certified and licensed to receive such <br />waste streams. <br />Related Procedures: <br />Standard Procedure for Equipment Decontamination
