(UST) investigation and closure project conducted on the subject site.
This correspondence provides an account of observations, activities, analytical results and
tecornmendations relative to this project.
The subject site is a convenience store.. and gasoline retailing facility in Stockton, California(Figure
1). Formerly, three gasoline USTs were Jocated between the convenience store building and the three
fael dispenser is!an.ds. A fourth former waste oil UST was located behind the store building. The
GRD identification number, volurne, contents and approximate dimensions of the USTs are listed
below:
UST 1D NUMBER CONTENTS I CAPACITY (gallons) D NIENUIONS --—j
T1 Gasoline 15,000 8 feet diameter x 14 feet long
T2 Gasoline 1 Q QQ0 _ 8 feet diameter x 27.5 feet loner
T3 Gasoline 10 000 8 feet diameter x 27.5 feet lonF
-- _-- ---._ . ,-mm_..._
— T4 _ Waste oil _—— 500---- -- 4 feet diameter x 6.5 feet lour.7
The dispensers;were connected to the USTs by subsurface product line piping as shown on Figure
1. The waste oil UST was connected to a former drain inside the store building. Vent line piping for
all four USTs were plumbed to the south side of the store building. The ground surface over the
gasoline USTs was paved xith asphalt. The ground. surface over the waste-oil UST was not paved.
The subject USTs and associated product piping and dispensers were excavated and removed on 6
January 1999 by Oil Equipment Service(OES) of San Andreas, California. The USTs were examined
after removal and all were found to be in generally good condition with slight corrosion and pitting;
no tan,; wall failures were noted in thc. subject USTs.
