Site Background Information: Former Ocampo Property
Page 3 of 6
soil sample B5-13 at a concentration of 1.9 mg/kg.
TPH-g was detected in all three ground water samples at the following concentrations:
1,200 micrograms per liter (pg/I)(B4), 460,000,000 pg/I (B5) and 12,000 pg/I (B6). TPH-d
was detected in the samples from B4 and B5 at concentrations of 160 pg/I and 14,000,000
pg/I, respectively. BTEX compounds were detected in all three ground water samples
analyzed. The sample from B5 had the highest concentrations at 680,000 pg/I benzene,
1,500,000 pg/I toluene, 420,000 pg/I ethylbenzene and 3,280,000 pg/I total xylenes. MTBE
and lead were detected in the ground water sample from B4 at 4.6 pg/I and 480 pg/I,
respectively.
January & February 2004:
On 29 January 2004 and 03 February 2004, three ground water monitoring wells (MW-1
through MW-3) were installed at the site; no petroleum hydrocarbons were detected at or
above laboratory reporting limits in the soil samples collected from monitoring well borings.
August 2005:
On 22 and 23 August 2005, three soil borings (CPT-1 through CPT-3) were advanced on-
and off-site (Figure 2) utilizing CPT technology. TPH-g was detected in ground water
sample CPT3-68-72 at a concentration of 160 pg/I. BTEX compounds were detected in
sample CPT3-68-72 at the following concentrations: 7.2 pg/I benzene, 6.7 pg/I toluene, and
9.0 pg/I total xylenes. Benzene was detected at a concentration of 4.7 pg/I in sample
CPT3-87-90. The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is
undefined at the former UST location (CPT-3).
Two soil samples were collected for laboratory analysis, one in the middle of HU2
(CPT3-65) and the other at the top of H U4 (CPT3-75). No petroleum hydrocarbons were
detected at or above laboratory reporting limits.
June & August 2008:
On 24, 25, 26 June 2008 two ground water monitoring wells (MW-5 and MW-6) and two
soil vapor wells (VW-1 and VW-2) were installed on-site near the former UST location. On
26 August 2008 one off-site ground water monitoring well (MW-4) was installed in the city
sidewalk approximately 180 feet south of the intersection of East Taylor Street and Wilson
Way Frontage Road.
TPH-g , TPH-d, and one or more BTEX compounds were reported in all soil samples
collected from boring MW5 except MW5-5 and MW5-10 at maximum concentrations of
3,900 mg/kg TPH-g (MW5-15), 330 mg/kg TPH-d (MW5-15), 14 mg/kg benzene (MW5-40),
230 mg/kg toluene (MW5-45), 78 mg/kg ethylbenzene (MW5-15), and 690 mg/kg total
.-Idvanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
