toluene and xylene (BTX). A sample of water was also taken from a well <br />located at the Marina (see Drawing 5) and submitted to the same laboratory <br />for the same components as above. The chemical analyses are presented in <br />Section 4.3. <br />3.6 Soil Sampling <br />Soil samples were collected from two locations on the levee of Whiskey <br />Slough (adjacent to the Marina) and at two locations on the levee of <br />Trapper Slough forming the northern perimeter of the Arcady site (See <br />Drawing 6). A single sample of soil from the bottom of one of the trenches <br />was also collected for analysis. This sample was taken at a depth of <br />approximately five feet. The levee locations were selected so as to assess <br />the presence or absence of hydrocarbons in soils close to slough waters. <br />Samples were taken at the land surface and at a depth of 2 feet at randomly <br />selected points on the levee. These soil samples were also submitted to <br />Brown and Caldwell's laboratory for analysis of TPH and BTX compounds. The <br />chemical analyses are discussed in Section 4.2. <br />3-4 <br />inr;
