4.2 Soils
Results of soil sample analyses are presented in Table 4.1.
Fuel hydrocarbons were detected at two locations. Samples SS1-1 and
SS1-2, which were collected from a location on the northeast section of
the site, contained elevated concentrations of fuel hydrocarbons both at
the surface and at a depth of two feet, These concentrations ranged from
4100 mg/kg to 8800 mg/kg. The sample TC-1, collected from a trench located
about 200-feet southwest of SS1-1 and SS1-2, contained lower concentrations
of hydrocarbons (170 mg/kg). No hydrocarbons were detected at the location
in the northwest sector of the site where samples SS2-1 and SS2-2 were
collected. Samples collected from Whiskey Slough, adjacent to the Marina
(SS3-1 and SS3-2), were also found to not contain detectable concentrations
of fuel hydrocarbons.
4.3 Groundwater
Groundwater level and product thickness data collected by The MARK
Group on March 4, 1986 indicate that the only measurable thickness of
petroleum product is limited to an area in the northern part of the site
bounded by Wells No. 9, 1, 2, and "Old" 1. Table 4.2 shows groundwater
levels and product thickness. The product thicknesses in these wells,
whicii were measured using a clear acrylic bailer, ranged from 0.02 to 0.12
inches.
4-2
inn
