Assemble an end cap, tail pipe, screen and blank sections as the <br />well casing/screen is lowered in the hollow-stem; <br />Tremie the sand filter around the casing while removing the augers; <br />Check sand level with weighted tape measure; <br />Place bentonite pellets by calculated volume and re-check pellet <br />level with weighted tape measure; <br />Wait at least 30 minutes for the bentonite pellets to start <br />expanding; <br />Tremie concrete/bentonite seal while removing the hollow-"stem auger <br />to within a few feet of the ground surface; <br />Remove the last auger flight; <br />Cut well casing (with removable swab in place to prevent PVC saw <br />filings from entering the well); <br />Set surface protective casing, cement in place and finish concrete <br />apron; <br />Drill and install traffic barriers. <br />The Shallow monitoring wells will be installed in accordance with the <br />specifications shown on Drawing A.1. Every attempt will be made to locate all <br />wells away from traffic areas. All riser casings will extend at least 2 feet <br />above the ground surface.
