Spinelli <br />Supervisor, Engineering <br />Subject: Reconnaissance Evaluations <br />and Status Report <br />Holt, California <br />Gentlemen: <br />Enclosed please find our "Reconnaissance Evaluations and Status <br />Report" for the site of the recent break in the fuel pipeline near Holt, <br />California. <br />During the past week we have: <br />carefully walked the site and its immediate vicinity to identify <br />any areas of major fuel contacts; <br />obtained the aerial photo map of the site, some of the prior <br />reports and correspondances regarding closure of the Arcady Oil <br />landfill site; <br />• collected samples of surface water from the nearby <br />groundwater from the existing monitoring wells; <br />sloughs and <br />• collected soil samples from the banks of the sloughs and subsurface <br />soils in areas which appeared to have <br />and <br />been contacted by the fuel; <br />• directed IT Corporation staff to take <br />locations within and in the vicinity of <br />air <br />the <br />samples <br />site. <br />from selected <br />Hookston Square, Suite 120 • 3480 Buskirk Avenue • Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 • (415) 946-1055
