STANDARD PROVISIONS AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS -8 <br />National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System <br />how it will increase capacity to handle the larger flows. The Board <br />may extend the time for submitting the report. <br />6. A manufacturing, commercial, mining, or silvicultural discharger <br />shall notify the Board as soon as it knows or has reason to believe: <br />a. That any activity has occurred or will occur that would result in <br />the discharge of any toxic pollutant that is not limited in this <br />Order, if that discharge will exceed the highest of the following <br />"notification levels": <br />100 micrograms per liter (µg/1); <br />200 ug/1 for acrolein and acrylonitrile; 500 µg/1 for <br />2,4-dinitrophenol and 2-methyl-4,6-dinitrophenol; and 1 <br />milligram per liter (mg/1) for antimony; <br />five times the maximum concentration value reported for that <br />pollutant in the Report of Waste Discharge; or <br />the level established by the Board in accordance with 40 CFR <br />122.44(f). <br />b. That it expects to begin to use or manufacture, as an <br />intermediate or final product or by-product, any toxic pollutant <br />that was not reported in the Report of Waste Discharge. <br />7. A POTW shall provide adequate notice to the Board of: <br />any new introduction of pollutants into the POTW from an indirect <br />discharger that would be subject to Sections 301 or 306 of the <br />CWA if it were directly discharging those pollutants, and <br />any substantial change in the volume or character of pollutants <br />being introduced into that POTW by a source introducing <br />pollutants into the POTW at the time of adoption of the Order. <br />Any planned physical alterations or additions to the permitted <br />facility, or changes planned in the Discharger's sludge use or <br />disposal practice, where such alterations, additions, or changes <br />may justify the application of permit conditions that are <br />different from or absent in the existing permit including <br />notification of additional disposal sites not reported during the <br />permit applica-tion process, or not reported pursuant to an <br />approved land application plan. <br />Adequate notice shall include information on the quality and quantity <br />of effluent introduced into the POTW as well as any anticipated
