LEVINE-FRICKE
Agricultural reuse of the effluent
This option would not be practical based upon irrigation
cycles used by local farmers. These farmers do not need a
continuous supply of water to support their crops.
Discharge of treated ground water to the nearby drainage
channel system
This option would result in the eventual discharge to
Trapper Slough. This option would also likely increase the
pumping costs for local farmers.
Discharge of treated ground water to Trapper Slough
We recommend treated ground water be discharged to Trapper
Slough. This option was selected based upon preservation
of slough-water quality, limited impact upon beneficial
users, and proximity to the treatment equipment.
Per your request, we have collected samples from the ground water
and surface water (slough) for evaluation and comparison purposes
(e.g., TDS, hardness, alkalinity, minerals). We anticipate that
the analytical results of these samples will be available in
three weeks; we will submit these results to you as a supplement
to this permit application.
Please review this application and contact Walter Risch of
Southern Pacific Pipe Line regarding its approval and remedial
measures completed to date.
If you have any questions regarding the project schedule or
system design, please contact me or Tom Graf at (415) 652-4500.
Sincerely,
F e G.
