April 3, 2017 5 Proposal No.: SWP-17-058
Asphalt concrete pavement and Portland cement driveway recommendations for
potential loading from buses, auto, emergency and service vehicles (Traffic Index values of
4.5 for parking areas, 6.0-6.5 for driveways, and 7.0 for fire lanes).
A discussion of the corrosion potential of the near-surface soils encountered during our
field exploration.
An appendix, which will include a summary of the field exploration and laboratory testing
program.
Five wet-signed and stamped copies of the report will be provided.
Task 6 — Post Report Services
Post Geotechnical Report services will include consultation with the design team (architect, civil
engineer, structural engineer) with respect to interpretation of our recommendations and
provide clarifications as requested.
If requested, we will review and provide comment on one set of grading and foundation plans to
evaluate general conformance with the intent of the recommendations in the project
geotechnical report. A review letter will be provided. In the interest of time and delays due to
resubmission, our comments will be made available to the design team, typically via email, for
corrections prior to preparation and submission of the final approval letter.
We will respond to inquiries by review agencies and the project engineers and prepare addenda
as necessary to finalize the review process.
FEES
We propose to complete the proposed scope of services on a "time and materials" basis per our
current 2017 Fee Schedule, assuming typical conditions, as detailed below:
Geotechnical Engineering Report $28,900.00
(Tasks 1-5)
General Consultation (Task 6) $1,000.00*
Grading Plan Review (Task 6) per review $750.00*
Foundation Plan Review (Task 6) per review $750.00*
Response to Agency Inquiries (Task 6) $1,000.00*
* Estimate only. Actual time billed per hour. No billing will occur if this subtask is not required.
Typical site conditions assume reasonable accessibility for a conventional truck-mounted drill rig
and CPT rig, permits are required, and minimal delays for utility clearances. In the event that
unusual site conditions not presently anticipated are encountered during the exploration, we will
bring it to your attention and will discuss with you the affect of these conditions on both the
estimated cost and timing of the reports. The geotechnical fee includes anticipated drill rig and
CPT expenses.
EARTH SYSTEMS SOUTHWEST
